Antonio Felix Da Costa was joined by a new team mate again in Paris. Limited running in Paris made the event at les Invalides more difficult for every team, but Aguri’s new driver, Ma Qing Hua, felt that more than anybody with very little time in the car.

It was another disappointing qualifying for the team, with da Costa starting tenth and Ma fifteenth. Both drivers made progress during the race, battling and managing to make up places on the tricky track.

A poor pit stop for Ma cost him the midfield place he’d been running in, dropping him to the back of the field, before a driver error sent the new driver into the wall.

Da Costa finished the race in eighth, bringing home four points for the team.

Da Costa couldn’t match the impressive pace in qualifying that had seen him almost take pole position in Long Beach, and the Portuguese driver started the race in tenth. He made up two places on the opening lap, pushing hard on the narrow streets, and battled through the race with Robin Frijns and Oliver Turvey. Da Costa was behind Frijns and running in eighth place when the safety car made its way onto the track after his team mate’s crash, ending the race.

Ma Qing Hua suffered the most from the lack of Friday shake down, the limited running the last thing the new driver needed to get up to speed in the Formula E car. Though the Chinese driver’s time in the second practice session wasn’t too far behind NEXTEV’s Oliver Turvey ahead of him, he did finish at the bottom of the timing sheets in the session, and towards the bottom in the first practice session.

Qualifying wasn’t much better for Ma, but the new driver managed to put himself in fifteenth on the starting grid. Ma made up a few places through the race, but all the hard work was wiped away when the mid-race car swap took half a minute longer than the minimum pit stop time. Not long later, a driver error sent Ma into the wall, ending the race for himself and bringing out the safety car for everybody else.
