[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

NEXTEV NIO aimed to achieve a good result in Buenos Aires and left the Argentinian capital with a total of 12 points in the bag. Both Oliver Turvey and Nelson Piquet Jr showed strong pace that put both drivers in the top ten and the team fourth in the standings.

Britain’s Turvey and Brazil’s Piquet Jr made it to Super Pole, achieving P4 and P5 respectively on the starting grid. As the green lights went out both drivers showed good pace and in Turvey’s case he was able to move up to P3 after overtaking Lucas di Grassi.

After the mandatory pitstops, Turvey emerged sixth and later dropped to P9, a position in which he’d see the chequered flag. Piquet Jr maintained his fifth place, earning ten points and is now positioned ninth in the standings.

Despite not getting the results expected, the team had a good weekend in Buenos Aires, with both drivers in the points and the team now moving up to fourth place in the team’s standings. NEXTEV NIO now goes to Mexico City, aiming to continue with the good work shown in Argentina.

Qualifying in P4 meant starting on the right foot for the 29-year-old Brit. He overtook di Grassi a few laps after the green lights went out and remained in P3, showing a strong pace, until the car swaps on lap 19.

Unfortunately, he came out of the pits in sixth position and later dropped to ninth, with his second car suffering thermal issues. He finished the race ninth, taking home two points and positioned tenth in the standings.

Despite not achieving the results expected, Buenos Aires was one of his strongest races in Formula E so far, showing incredibly good pace and fighting up in the top three for several laps of the race. The Briton now goes to Mexico aiming to keep proving the skills he has at the wheel of a Formula E car.

The Brazilian arrived on Argentinian soil with only three points obtained from his pole position at the Hong Kong ePrix. However, both in Marrakesh and Buenos Aires the first ever Formula E champion could not get into the points. A P5 start looked promising for him.

Piquet Jr lost his fifth position to Nico Prost in lap five, but was able to gain it again after the mandatory pit stop, remaining in P5 until crossing the finish line. The 31 year-old showed good pace and was one of the strongest drivers of the race.

He is now lying ninth in the standings with 13 points. Piquet Jr goes to Mexico City next April, with the hopes of keep demonstrating what he and his team are capable of.
