One of three female racers to compete in Formula E’s first season, de Silvestro got closest to a points finish with 11th and 12th in the two races in London. Those were the only races she competed in last season, having only joined the team for the season finale. Now she is confirmed for the whole second season, she will hope to become a consistent points scorer in the championship.
Moving to the USA in 2006, Swiss racer de Silvestro has spent the last 10 years on that side of the Atlantic. After finishing 4th in her first season in the States, in Formula BMW USA, she moved into the Champ Car Atlantic series in 2007. Three seasons in that championship yielded five wins and a 3rd place finish in 2009.
Since 2010 she has competed in the IndyCar Series, running full campaigns from 2010-13 and a part season in 2015 for Andretti. Her best result was a 2nd place in Houston in 2013, while she finished 4th earlier this year in New Orleans. In 2014, she was affiliated to the Sauber F1 Team, but this partnership finished at the end of the year.
