ITV retain exclusive rights for season two coverage in the UK

ITV has retained exclusive rights to air live and free coverage of the second season of the Formula E championship in the United Kingdom.

As per last year, All 11 rounds will be televised live on ITV4 and ITV4HD with the season finale London ePrix to be aired on ITV’s main channel. The network’s flagship channel will also show an extensive highlights programme after each ePrix.

Ali Russell, Director of Media and Strategic Partnerships at Formula E, said: “It’s fantastic news that we are extending our partnership with ITV. The interest and following of Formula E in the UK has been overwhelming, which was evident at the final two rounds in London. We look forward to continue to build Formula E together over the course of the season.”

Niall Sloane, Director of Sport at ITV, said: “We are delighted to renew our Formula E deal for next year. The sport is building significantly on a thrilling first year and we look forward to bringing this fresh, innovative and futuristic series to our viewers on ITV and ITV4.”

ITV’s news of a renewed deal follows Eurosport’s announcement to exclusively cover season two and three of the series in Germany, Poland, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark with a non-exclusive TV right secured in Iceland.
