Renault e.dams returned to their winning form with their second win of the season in Punta Del Este. Sebastien Buemi’s win took the team back to the top of the team’s championship.

The team had put in a lot of effort to get Buemi’s car ready for the race, after the less than perfect day.

“The result today was really a combined effort from everyone,” Buemi said. “You don’t win because of just the car, or just because of the motor. It’s a team effort, and was a great reward for all of us after the disappointment in Malaysia.”

“We’re all really happy with the result here in Uruguay, especially after the day we had!” Senior Team Manager Alain Prost. “The team did a fantastic job to turn the car around after Sebastien’s crash during practice. This result means we can go into the New Year feeling positive and ready to race in Argentina.”

Back on track, Nico Prost was having a tougher time to follow his team mate. A poor start lost him a position at the beginning of the race, but he was able to recover, finishing fifth.

“I am a bit disappointed about the result because I felt like I had more pace here than in the first two races,” he said. “I seemed to struggle with the same corner every session and didn’t feel quite as comfortable as I would’ve liked. That said, we’ve scored some important points today for the championship and we’ll have to see what we can do in Buenos Aires.”

The win was important to the team after the disappointing race in Malaysia and the difficult day in the practice and qualifying sessions.

Senior team manager Jean-Paul Driot said the issues that left them with only four points in Putrajaya have been resolved, but said the team will continue to work to develop the car to keep winning races.
