Ben Hanley will be filling in for NEXTEV’s Oliver Turvey at the Berlin ePrix. Turvey will miss the eighth round of the championship due to clashes with the Japanese round of the Autopolis Super GT Championship.

Hanley’s career so far has seen him competing in international karting competitions, runner up in the 2005 Italian FR2.0, and runner up in the FR3.5 Series. The Brit’s 2016 season will see him race in the European Le Mans Series. And, now, the Berlin ePrix.

“I am delighted to be joining NEXTEV TCR for the Berlin round of the 2015/16 Formula E championship,” said Hanley. “Formula E has grown to be one of the most exciting racing championships, and I’m looking forward to racing against some of the best drivers in the world.”

Hanley believes his main challenge will be getting to grips with the technology and unique car but says he will be “giving it my all to deliver the best possible result for the team.”

NEXTEV President Martin Leach said: “We are delighted to welcome Ben to the team for the Berlin race. Ben has an impressive race history in both karting and single-seaters and we are confident that he is the perfect driver to fill in for Oliver. Although it is Ben’s first experience of racing in Formula E, we are confident that he has the right skills and attitude to do a good job for the team.”

The Berlin ePrix will be held on the 21st May.
