Frustration for Buemi in first London race

Race one in London was exactly what Sebastien Buemi didn’t want for the twilight stages of his championship battle: a wet qualifying putting him in the middle of the grid, stuck behind his championship rival’s team mate for a number of laps and then unable to get past Lucas di Grassi. Senior editor Bethonie Waring caught up with him after the frustrating race.

“When I saw he had a broken front wing I expected him to get a flag, to come in and repair. Never happened.”

“If I was Bird I would not like it because the flag he got in Berlin with something moving just a little bit, I think is far less bad as what happened today.”

“At some point yes, but because Lucas was so slow I couldn’t slow down the others much more so it was very difficult for me to make a gap for fastest lap, to try to go for fastest lap because of him being so slow I had to slow down the pack and I tried to do it and Sam overtook me.”
