The race is on to find a new location to host the London ePrix, and talks with the office of the new mayor of London have already begun.

Plenty of fans and guests visited Battersea Park this weekend to watch the finale of the second Formula E season, the final two ePrix that will be held in the park. Amongst those were members of London mayor Sadiq Khan’s team, and Alejandro Agag met with London deputy mayor for business, Rajesh Agrawal, on the Sunday.

However, these are only the first formal talks and, with Agag wanting to fill the June 24th round with a London ePrix, there’s not much time to find somewhere on the streets of the capital to host the race.

“We need to decide very quickly where and how if we’re going to make June 24,” Agag told Autosport. “It will be important which borough we’re in and what council it is.”

Agag said Khan’s support of the street race was “crucial”, but is optimistic that the decision makers will be supportive.
