After being confirmed alongside Jean-Eric Vergne as part of the Techeetah Formula E team for season three, Chinese driver Ma Qing Hua believes Formula E is constantly taking steps in the right direction.
Ma, who is currently showing good pace in his new electric vehicle at the pre-season testing at Donington Park, finished 18th quickest on Wednesday afternoon after running as high as tenth on Tuesday. His team-mate Vergne was quickest in the morning session and snatched the fastest time and lap record in his public debut on track with his new team.
Discussing where the all-electric sport could head in the future, Hua stated that he believes that with the ever-growing interest and support to electric vehicles on the road, the series will continue to grow and become even more relevant to those in countries such as China.
“The feedback I get [about Formula E] is quite interesting for everyone,” Ma said whilst taking a quick break from testing.
“In China more and more people are showing an interest into electric vehicles on the road too. Therefore I believe they pay more attention and can relate to the sport.
“As a whole, I believe Formula E is becoming more popular.”
