Jaguar have confirmed Mitch Evans and Adam Carroll will race for them in their debut Formula E campaign. Ho-Pin Tung will join the team as a reserve driver.

Evans and Carroll were confirmed today at Jaguar Collections Centre after testing this week at Donington Park. Jaguar aims to mix youth and experience in their team, which will make its debut in Hong Kong next month.

The pair bring experience from a variety of series, from IndyCar to the 24 Hours of Le Mans, whilst Tung brings Formula E experience from his time in the series in season one.

Panasonic was also announced as Jaguar’s official title partner, featuring predominantly at the grey and aqua livery of the I-TYPE 1, which was also revealed this morning. Panasonic’s involvement in Formula E aims to “push the boundaries of electric technology”, once again taking the benefits of Formula E to the world outside the sport.

The race team will be spearheaded by James Barclay, who was appointed to the role of Team Director before the championship entry announcement back in December and expressed his pride at being a part of Jaguar’s return to the sport.

“Today is a proud moment for myself and the entire Panasonic Jaguar Racing team at our official launch,” said Barclay. “Everyone has worked very hard over the last nine months to prepare for our debut in the Championship. I am delighted to welcome Adam, Mitch and Ho-Pin, Panasonic, Lear and all of our new fans into the Jaguar family.

“We want to be successful on and off the track. We know that the challenge will be strong – our competitors have a two-year head start. We will be keeping our expectations in check in our first season. Ultimately we’re here to win but we’re here to innovate too. I would like to thank Jean Todt and his team at the FIA and Alejandro Agag and his team at Formula E for their vision in building this innovative series and for their help and support over the last 12 months with Jaguar’s entry.”

Jaguar’s involvement will also take the benefits of Formula E to the world outside of motor racing.. As Jaguar Land Rover plans on moving into electric road vehicles, the Formula E experience will help the research and development side of the venture.
