Formula E looking for new host cities

Formula E announced today that new cities are now able to apply to host an ePrix in the 2017/18 season.

The all-electric series is unique in the fact that they race exclusively in city centres, with as many as 180 locations expressing an interest in joining the calendar following the inaugural season.

The selection process, which is maintained by The Sports Consultancy, a company based in London that specialises in rights holders for sporting events, will be accepting showings of interest from potential host cities. Together with the FIA World Motor Sport Council, a finalised calendar for season four will be made public in June 2017.

Formula E CEO Alejandro Agag said: “We have enjoyed remarkable growth over the first two seasons of Formula E and now have partnerships with some of the most iconic cities in the world and cutting-edge automotive brands.

“There is now a unique opportunity for new cities to join our calendar and share in the continued exponential growth of the championship.”
