Esteban Gutierrez is in line to replace Ma Qing Hua at the Techeetah squad and complete the season from the Mexico City ePrix onwards, according to reports.

Following the earlier news that the Mexican will join the FIA Formula E Championship from Mexico onwards, it is now understood by Motorsport.com that Gutierrez has signed up with the Techeetah team and will take the seat of Ma, who has yet to score a point in his Formula E career.

Reports also suggest that the former Formula 1 driver’s management had also been in contact with Renault e.dams, Faraday Future Dragon Racing and DS Virgin Racing before striking a deal with Techeetah.

An official announcement is yet to be made by the team.
