Rosenqvist aiming for victory in Berlin

Felix Rosenqvist believes he can win today’s race and bring Mahindra Racing their first triumph in Formula E, after showing blistering pace in practice and qualifying.

The Swede, who will start the 44 lap race from third on the grid, missed out on pole position by 0.083s in one of the closely-contested qualifying sessions in the history of the series.

Speaking to Formula E Zone, Rosenqvist is confident that his car has the pace to beat the front row duo of Lucas di Grassi and Jose Maria Lopez and claim his first series victory in his rookie season.

“I think we can win today,” said the 25-year-old. “We have been in these positions before, the car has been really good and my pace and driving have been good all day. So we have the car to win today, we just need to nail our strategy. Anything is possible from P3.”

A number of drivers have voiced their concerns over energy management in what is set to be one of the longest races Formula E has ever seen.

Looking back to the Marrakesh ePrix when inefficient energy management cost Rosenqvist a potential victory, he believes he is on top of how to drive efficiently and aims to be the best on the grid today.

“Comparing now and Marrakesh is like going back to the stone ages for us as a team. We have come so far. The team has gone through a lot of changes and a lot of developments since then.

“Especially as we missed an opportunity to win a race in Marrakesh. So I think we are on top of our efficiency issues and we should be able to compete with the best out there.”
