Rosenqvist tops the chart while Lynn crashes again

Mahindra Racing’s Felix Rosenqvist led the way in the second practice session, followed by fellow championship contenders Sam Bird and Lucas di Grassi.

Rosenqvist was fastest in the second round of free practice session with 1:35.467s topping Panasonic Jaguar Racing’s Nelson Piquet’s quickest time from the first session, the Brazilian setting a 1:36.134s.

DS Virgin Racing’s Bird came second quickest just six minutes left into the session with a close 0.344s behind Rosenqvist while di Grassi comes in third with 0.372 behind the Brit.

Dragon Racing appeared on good form this weekend as Jose Maria Lopez moved up to fourth while Jerome d’Ambrosio ended the session in seventh place.

The earlier half of the session remained mostly incident free, but it was a close call for Andre Lotterer of Techeetah as he went off the track with about 16 minutes left into the session. The German, however, managed to regain control of his car and get going again.

With just five minutes left in the session, bad luck struck yet again for Alex Lynn who again crashed his car. Fortunately, Lynn was left unhurt but the crash caused significant body damage to the car and a red flag that halted any further track action.
