The newly-branded NIO 333 has confirmed Oliver Turvey and Ma Qing Hua as its drivers for season six and unveiled the FE-005 that will grace the grid.
NIO 333 enters season six with new owners and a revised livery that will still feature the same white and turquoise colour scheme, while changing half of its driver line up by retaining mainstay Turvey while Ma makes his return to the series having last competed for NIO in season four, substituting for Luca Filippi in Paris and Turvey in New York City.
William Li, founder, chairman and CEO of NIO, welcomed the new partnership with Lisheng Racing and hopes to see his team move up the grid in season six.
“Formula E has experienced a rapid expansion in the past few years and we are pleased to continue our participation in the championship,” said Li. “We also appreciate the support from our new partner Lisheng Racing. With our joint efforts, I believe the new NIO 333 FE Team will be more competitive.
“I also wish Oliver Turvey and Ma Qing Hua great success in the coming season.”
Vincent Wang, CEO of NIO 333 FE Team, believes the team can be a great representation for Chinese motorsport and eagerly awaits the beginning of the season.
“It’s our greatest pleasure to collaborate with NIO and participate in Formula E. NIO has achieved great results in the past, and the NIO 333 FE Team will thrive to live on that heritage.
“The championship is a great platform for Chinese motorsports to enter the world stage, and we are very happy to be here. We are ready to both join the FE family and to take on the challenges, and we hope that the team will continue to make progress with our efforts. We are also looking forward to see the moment the red lights go out.”
