Mitch Evans is one of the youngest driver in Formula E, which he was able to join due to Jaguar’s return to single-seaters. The Panasonic Jaguar Racing Team paired the talented youngster with the experienced Adam Carroll for their first season back in single-seater world. The driver from New Zealand became very popular during his time in GP2 and has a very prominent supporter in former Formula 1 driver and WEC world champion Mark Webber, who also attended the Hong Kong ePrix –Evans’ inaugural race in Formula E – in late autumn 2016.

Evans gained his first experiences in karting, before he was able to move on to Formula First in New Zealand in which he did not only compete in the regular championship but also the winter series. Following a few more years racing in New Zealand and Australia, he managed to win the title in the Toyota Racing Series in 2010 and 2011. In the same year he also joined the GP3 championship which he was also able to win in his second season. In the end, he beat fellow Formula E colleague Daniel Abt with 151,5 points to 149,5 points. His success in the series built the foundation for his jumpt to GP2 in which he raced from 2013 to 2016. In 2014, he experienced his most successful season as he finished fourth overall. Evans also gained some experiences in the European Le Mans Series and was furthermore allowed to test for Porsche’s LMP1 program before he got the offer to join Formula E with the Panasonic Jaguar Racing team. Webber’s protege has been able to acclimate himself in the all-electric racing series fairly quickly and is consistently fighting for point finishes.
