Formula E: Season 7 Full Calendar Unveiled

Ahead of the inaugural DHL Valencia E Prix, the ABB FIA Formula E Championship has revealed the full calendar of the 2020-2021 season; the series will host a record of races, also introducing a new location.

The second leg of the world championship kicks off in June and brings the all-electric racing series back to Mexico.

The Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez has served as host for five races in Formula E history, but due to the ongoing pandemic – the circuit currently serves as a COVID-19 field hospital – the series moves to Puebla, where a doubleheader event will take place.

The city, located about 100 km (62 miles), east of Mexico City, boasts magnificent Baroque architecture from the 15th century, with its Historic Centre having been declared Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.

Although the circuit is yet subject to homologation, rounds eight and nine are scheduled for June 19-20, respectively.

It’s a massive achievement by all to release the full calendar for this season. The calendar includes the most races we’ve held in one season and shows our continued commitment to create a momentum-building schedule that fans and audiences across the world will follow,” said Co-Founder and Chief Championship Officer of Formula E, Alberto Longo

In July, the all-electric series lands on American soil ahead of the New York City E-Prix held in Red Hook, Brooklyn.

Rounds 10 and 11 will take place on July 10 and 11 in the city that never sleeps.

Next stop, London, Formula E returns to the United Kingdom capital where four races have been previously hosted, at the Battersea Park Street Circuit – season one and two.

In 2021, the Gen 2 cars will be racing in the ExCeL London, Formula E’s first indoor/outdoor track.

The doubleheader in Britain will be celebrated on July 24 and 25.

In August, the grand finale in Berlin – also a doubleheader – unveils the first FIA Formula E World Champion.

REVISED CALENDAR

The intended schedule from February to June of 2021 included the Marrakesh E-Prix and the Santiago E-Prix.

However, these events had to be canceled due to the global pandemic.

According to Formula E, the venues in Santiago de Chile and the races canceled ahead of Season 6, Sanya in China, and Seoul in South Korea will be rescheduled for Season 8.

Season 7 calendar features a record of 15 races held in eight cities across three continents.
