Simona de Silvestro has admitted that her immediate future is unclear but remains open to switching to a different championship.

The Swiss driver has been competing for Amlin Andretti alongside Robin Frijns, who was recently retained by the team for season three of the all-electric series, with recent rumours linking Antonio Felix da Costa to the second seat.

When asked by Motorsport.com, de Silvestro was uncertain on where she would go but did not rule out leaving Formula E and moving to a different series altogether.

“I don’t know. There are a lot of different racing series out there that have interest – and that I’m interested in. I just have to look a little bit at what the best opportunity is for me to be competitive, and that’s really what I want.

I want to be in a competitive outfit and really get the chance – getting the right chance is really important as a driver, and it’s always been a big fight to be in the right opportunity at the right time.”

Speaking about her time in Formula E, de Silvestro said she took time to adapt to the car before going on to score points in Long Beach and Berlin.

“Pretty average, I think. At the beginning of the season, I struggled quite a bit, finding the way with the car a little bit, it took a little while.

“I would say since Mexico it’s much better, since then we’ve been consistently running in the top 10 and being much closer to Robin as well – like in Berlin, I think we should’ve finished right behind him, but we had a problem with one of the batteries.

“So, I think, it’s been better, but for sure you know it would’ve been nice to already have those points in the beginning of the season.”
