Heidfeld: “In Formula E, each circuit is difficult”

Ahead of the London ePrix, deputy editor in chief Topher Smith caught up with Mahindra’s Nick Heidfeld, to ask the German about his first season with the Indian squad and his goals for the weekend ahead.

“I think it’s been quite good, especially the start where we had a podium in Beijing. A low point for me was my hand injury, which lost me only one race. I think we improved as a team, coming forward with the balance of the car, and in terms of organization as well. But we did not always maximize our potential, which I think no team or driver will do to 100%”.

“It’s much better, I still feel it, but after a couple of months I won’t have to think about it anymore.”

“No, nothing signed yet.”

“I think in Formula E, each circuit is difficult, we have street circuits everywhere. And I think it’s quite hard to predict what will happen. It’s a bit easier than last year, as we have differences with the car, and we have seen some teams are stronger than others. So to say what’s going to happen is impossible, even with the weather conditions.”

“This is our target and our main objective across the weekend for us. At the moment we are ahead of them, and it looks quite easy for us, as there are 50 points to take, so we will try and make no mistakes, and get a strong result with both cars.”
