Who are LEMO?

Last week, Renault e.dams announced a new sponsor: LEMO.

LEMO is a Swiss company which designs and manufactures custom connectors and cables.

Formula E is known for attracting leaders in all areas of industry, and LEMO’s interest fits this image.
Founded in 1946 by engineer Léon Mouttet (LEon MOuttet, get it?), LEMO have been developing and reinventing connectors for decades, including the invention of the push-pull self-latching system.
Such small things are so important in engineering, from connectors for video applications to fibre optic media convertors.
LEMO has a worldwide presence and its products have a presence in industries as different as defence and medicine.
And motorsport.

Motorsport is a pinnacle of engineering and it probably wouldn’t surprise you to know that LEMO is part of that.
The company manufactured connectors for the F1 ECU systems provided by McLaren Electronic Systems in 2013, 2014, and 2015.
Most motorsports fans will recognise the name LEMO from another series, as the official corporate partner and team supplier for World Endurance Racing team Rebellion Racing.
LEMO have now branched out and, already “having known Alain and Nico Prost some time”, Renault e.dams was the logical place to do that.
