Points possible for NEXTEV at Long Beach

A lot’s changed at NEXTEV since Nelson Piquet Junior’s win on the iconic Long Beach street circuit. The team return to the site of Piquet’s first Formula E win, now at the bottom of the championship.

NEXTEV left Mexico without any points, but optimistic about the race ahead. The team believe the track will suit their car better and, though they still won’t be fighting for the podium, they feel points are definitely available.

It’s an iconic circuit and, having lived in America for six year, I love the country so it feels like a home track. Our reality this season is that we won’t be fighting at the front unfortunately, so we will go and do the best we can. If we can finish in the points it would be good for us.”[/pullquote]

Oliver Turvey will be making his Formula E Long Beach debut this weekend.

[pullquote align=”full” cite=”” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=””]“The track there looks a bit faster, which should suit our car a bit better,” he said. “It’s another historic motorsport venue and a street circuit that I’ve always wanted to race at. I haven’t raced much in America so I’m really looking forward to getting there.”[/pullquote]

NEXTEV will arrive in Los Angeles with fourteen points, compared to the forty nine they had this time last year, and six points behind their nearest competitors.
